Le Quoc Hung

Deputy Director General

Mr. Hung Quoc Le joined the State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV) in late 1993 after graduating from the Vietnamese Banking College. Over the course of his career, he has held various positions across several departments within the SBV, including a 13-year tenure at the Information Technology Department (IT Department).


From 1997 to 2009, Mr. Hung served as Head of the Project Division under the IT Department, where he played a key role in the Viet Nam Banking Modernization Project - an important national initiative that significantly transformed Viet Nam’s payment infrastructure. During this period, he also earned a Master’s degree in Business and Information Systems through a joint program between the National Economics University (Viet Nam) and the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (Belgium).


From 2009 to 2012, Mr. Hung served as Deputy Director General of the Statistics and Forecasting Department. In late 2012, he was appointed by the Governor of the SBV as a Senior Advisor to the Executive Director’s Office at the World Bank. He subsequently served two years at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Upon completing his assignment at the World Bank, Mr. Hung was appointed Deputy Director General of the National Payment Corporation of Viet Nam (NAPAS), the country’s sole financial switching provider at the time. He later assumed the role of Acting General Director.


From early 2019 to the present, Mr. Hung has served as Deputy Director General of the Department of Forecasting and Statistics, which was subsequently renamed the Department of Forecasting and Statistics – Monetary and Financial Stabilization,
