Soyoung Kang

Team head

Korea Securities Finance Corporation

So-young Kang is the Head of the Money Market Intermediary Team at the Korea Securities Finance Corporation(KSFC), where she leads the brokerage of Repo (repurchase agreement) trades with banks, securities companies and asset management firms.

Since joining the KSFC in 2007, she has gained extensive experience across various roles, including international affairs, securities borrowing and lending intermediation, and the management of trust funds for investors’ deposits. During the Korean market stress in 2022 following the default of Legoland, she and her team facilitated Repo transactions between the KSFC and financial institutions as the KSFC injected funds into the capital market. Her expertise in financial intermediation and market operations supports the KSFC’s mission to enhance market liquidity and facilitate smooth funding for financial institutions.

The KSFC is a dedicated securities finance company founded in 1955 to supply funds and securities to the securities industry, and plays a pivotal role as an infrastructure provider of the Korean capital market.
